I'm a neurodivergent mixed-media artist operating out of a small studio on the Southeast coast of NSW Australia, in Yuin country. My practice primarily employs a unique method of collage combining inks and re-purposed teabags on canvas, creating complex transparent layers.
In a previous chapter of my life (2000-2010), I maintained a non-sequential online comic that fostered experimentation through digital compositions. Versatility of stylistic choices led me to pursue a degree in the arts. I completed a BA in Fine Arts through Curtin University.
During my studies, I favoured the contemporary landscape as a measure against Australia’s celebrated, though deeply problematic landscape tradition. After the Black Summer fires, my works became a critical commentary on the future alongside the past.
Post graduation, I've dedicated my time in-studio, refining my skills as an ink artist/collagist further exploring climate art. As all roads lead to the same outcome with regard to climate, this has seen a thematic expansion incorporating works addressing mental health, social injustice, diaspora, and cultural identity.
I'll be the first to concede that these themes can be bleak and overwhelming to discuss, let alone research. However, I've found that my comic roots allow for a prevailing style that finds itself somewhere in the middle of truth and beauty.
